YIELD: 4-6 servings
1 can whole black beans, rinsed and drained
1 can refried pinto beans (vegetarian variety)
1 handful fresh cilantro
2 fresh garlic cloves
1/4 cup white onion (or more or less to taste)
1 tbs lime juice
salt to taste
1. In a blender, combine whole black beans, onion, garlic, and cilantro. Pulse until well-puréed.
2. Empty refried beans into a pot over medium heat. Stir in bean purée. Mix together and allow to heat through.
3. Add lime juice and salt to taste. Remove from heat and serve.
